Remember what your mother said.
Look both ways when you cross the street.
Okay, So I went into work tonight and was getting everything ready for that night. I got into a little challenge to "take it to the next level" with my co worker. It involved a soda can and hurling it past a promoters head. I have to get ice every night from across the street at College Beverage. I called Tom and was telling him about the "challenge" and getting kind of worked up to tell him about something else that was irking me when I got there that night.
The there were absolutely no cars coming in the first lane and very few on the second (and third) lane. I was talking and waiting to get across while in the middle of the first lane. A van in the second lane stopped for me, I was kind of annoyed because I hate when people do that when it's not busy traffic. ARGH JUST GO! I like to go when there are no cars. But I decided to cross and I was semi-complaining about the van and then I got side-swiped by a car that didn't see me because the van blocked their view. I don't remember what it was like except I felt the car clip my knee and the car run over my foot. I don't remember anything around me except that I crossed the street. It happened so fast I was complaining about the van then I calmly told Tom "Someone just hit me." and I looked down and my foot is scraped up. I was very calm about the whole thing and my main concern was getting back to work. They said I was out of it for a few minutes. I didn't feel any pain and I was more worried about the people in the car. The driver was in a little bit of shock and kept saying "This was my worst nightmare." (On a funny note: They've come to the bar while I was working. I told him they looked familiar)
Anyway, I reluctantly filed a police report on Tom's insistence. I didn't see a point in doing it, but he said "You never know!" I joked with the people in the car (who were pretty cool and exchanged names). I kept apologizing to them.
Comments
Connie: Yeah, they're both like that. I used to be self conscious about it.
Wanda: Thanks, me too. ME TOO.
Jessyboo: I'm glad everyone was cool about it.
About your pet peeve with stopped cars & traffic thing... yeah, I can't stand when cars do that. ESPECIALLY on a two lane! Dude! That's crazy dangerous. And it's also one of my major, major pet peeves. Like, I get so angry just thinking about it. Ugh Therapy, much? LOL *breathe in, breathe out*
Again, I'm so glad you're okay!! You definitely had your guardian angels watching over you. ;)
