Thanks for the memories! The ocean view of the hotel, our stuff, the tiger @ barefoot landing, snowglobe from south of the border, and a old pic from the kiss coffeehouse.
To explain the tiger being in this small "cage." This place had a take a photo with tiger cubs or monkeys! They had a white tiger cub which was so cute. Anyway, the money for the pictures went towards keeping their animal preservation. I was really excited about the snowglobe from South of the border. I love snowglobes, but this one got e because it's kind of 70ish looking and I've recently become obsessed with the 70s. I used to HATE going to souvenir shops and all that because of the whole cheese factor and Tom has turned me onto them. I can't really explain it but it makes me happy now. Then a guy took a picture of the us infront of the KISS coffeehouse and I don't want to lose this picture. :)
We took some last pics at the kiss coffeehouse. This was after our strawberry shortcake snacks. Then we back to the hotel and went to the beach shops beside us and we passed the world's largest sandcastle. Later that night, we out to a japanese hibachi place and then went to a bar called "Crocodile Rocks." They had dueling pianos and it's pretty cool but I think it would have been more fun if I partied. The next day, Tom's parents came out and hung out with us! We went to barefoot landing (saw some cool birds and wild life, btw I love swans) and walked around then we went to Carolina Opry to see Good Vibrations. A music show of the 60s, 70's and 80's. It was kind of cool but I was so tired I kept falling asleep in the middle of the show (It's a 90 minute show with no intermissions)! haha Tom's mom enjoyed it a lot.
Tom had a show before we went then we went straight down to SC and made a stop at south of the border and i got a snowglobe. We are staying at the same hotel as last year. I went to a Thomas Kincade gallery and fell in love with artist Fabien Perez (examples of his work here, here, and here). We took horrid photos in a booth and got a refund. And we are at the KISS cafe. Its awesome. The bathroom kicks ass i love it here. We had KISS strawberry shortcakes. I feel like the coffeehouse is so cheesy but so great! It's got tons of great stuff in it! I like coming here though. Oh and BTW, last year we had a fried twinkie at the KISS Coffeehouse but since they remodeled this year and added some new things (they added some kiss merchandise from the 70s and 80s in a glass case) they took the fried twinkie off the list. Oh well, I didn't like it much anyway. It kind of tasted like funnel cake if I remember right. And I think my arteries hurt from that still. lol
This was the Mars exhibit at Ripley's Aquarium. (I think they change their themes every year, this year it's Mars.) It was showing you things they've done, entertainment on mars, and had a video (well big video) about Mars. It's supposed to be educational but no, I have to treat it like a playground. The first two are these martian landrover cams.First one is of the cam screen and the landrover is the second. Mine didn't move a whole lot, this made me jealous of the other guys.
And then I took a picture of Tom at the gift shop; you have to go through the gift shop to leave. NOOOOOOO. Genius planning though.
From Ripleys Aquarium. I took a break from moblogging but did it later obviously to just enjoy my vacation and take photos. I realized that if I sat there and blogged and blogged that I would not enjoy my surroundings as much.
From Ripley's Aquarium. This first picture was the Stingray shark tank, but you could actually put your hands in and pet them. They would swim by and very often they would stick their fins out of the water and flap them as they passed by. It was very cool to see. The last photos are in the very first tank you see before you enter the tunnel and Tom was doing his photo magic here. ;) I love watching him work with his camera magic. He's really good and he should be since it was his degree!
