Taken today with my Canon Rebel XSi. A woman stopped me and asked me what I was doing my photographs for and I said "I'm just playing with my new camera." She says "Oh, I saw you taking kind of weird photos." I think she meant the weird angles and how many I would take. hahaha Which I look goofy when I take photographs. :P I forgot to mention, Tom got a new camera; Canon 40D. He also posted about today. So yeah. Enjoy!
I made the local look on the blog scene. I'm honored to have made this! Thanks, Ginny! :) Her blog is called "Ginny from the Blog." Check it out!
What's new for me? We had a dance party with our new dance team: The Brew Girls. Tonight went pretty smoothly but we hope to bring in more people. Hopefully a video or some pictures will spring up from tonight. They worked really hard on their routines and I was happy for them. They got a lot of positive feedback. :) I've worked a lot this week, I can't wait until Sunday for me to chill out.
I'm going to eat tacos now. Goodnight!
Mine was good. I spent my Thanksgiving lunch/dinner with Tom's family as usual and had a great time! We had many oysters, green beans, collards, turkey, and desserts. At the end of the night I went to spent the night with my best friend who I haven't seen in a few months but stopping by my friend Charles house to say hi to his mom who I hadn't seen in 2 1/2 years. It was really nice and it was just awesome for me this year. I'm so tired right now so I'm going to cut this short and leave you with the pictures.
I enjoy going to the fair just to walk around take pictures. It's visually stimulating for my brain. I ate some food: Sweet corn on the cob, Corndog and two sweet potato fries that weren't that good. :( I also went into a "freak show" type of thing with the world's smallest woman who wasn't all that small. Then pondered if they give her a break to stand up. I watched the fireworks while Tom got great pictures of them. I tried to show I was holding a coca-cola and a corndog but didn't do that too well! I really had a fun time. I never ride the rides because they're kind of expensive for something that's only put up in one day! But I just enjoy the flashy lights. The simples things! :D
Tom is going to update his blog soon with pictures he took of the fair so watch out! They look ten times better than mine!!
I wanted to dedicate an entry to a band called Yearling in Raleigh, NC. They are signed to Tragic Hero Records.
They are a local band that is doing small tours for now and hopefully they go further and get bigger. But until then, I will continue my article. It's hard to write about them professionally because I feel like they're family. It's very hard to not get a certain feeling about a band when you've seen them from the beginning and watched them grow into a better band.
Anyway, all emotion aside, they are a pop rock band with a softer side. The songs make me feel like I should be on the beach listening to this album. I just really love it. I also feel like while they are pop rock the way their music is composed it can appeal to an older crowd(24 and up) and kiddies could still get into it. I would recommend listening to them if you want to wind down and take it slow. ;)
Anyway, I would like people to go to their myspace and check out my favorite song "Slowdance." While I would like to put the mp3 on my Vox, I will not because they are not a national act! And I don't want to upset them!
And they have a music video!
I just thought I would introduce you to some of North Carolina grown bands here in our state. But they are a band that comes through our club a lot that we feel is family.
It was kind of strange, they built a bunch of settings and had fake animals and information about them. There was one Parakeet model and I was reciting the Dead Parrot sketch of Monty Python! haha After that we went into a theater that was following the migration of some...caribou. We came in the middle...so it wasn't clear to us. But it was nice and cold in the theater to set the mood.
Then they had some life animals and saw some fish, and fake dunes, which Tom took a picture of me on the beach. Saw some whale skeleton models, fake people, rattlesnakes (hissing cockroaches, crawfish, millipedes) and then we stopped at the cafe on the third floor and I took a picture with the preying mantis! They had a butterfly sanctuary but it was closed on Mondays :( So I only got a dead butterfly. We went back downstairs and to the gift shop I bought some some items (but it's not really anything to do with the musuem at all) and then we got sno-cones outside! It was a nice mid-day thing!
Congradulations! You are a true J-Ville resident and should not be proud of this. You have experienced all the sights, sounds, lights and culture that is Jacksonville. I join you in this, and feel your pain as well.
How Jacksonville NC Are You?Create a Quiz
DAV! You are TOTALLY at this Quiz! lol Tom found it! haha
My only complaints are they had questions that could go either way...you know? Or they weren't specfic enough. But yeah...there was ONLY ONE question that you wouldn't know. The Jacksonville Ninja. I only know it because I am a younger J-actionville generation that has dealt with the "ninja" first hand.
It's Tom parents cat Dobber. He likes being pet under the chin. I take allgery meds to be around him and its worth it. He's a wonderfully crazy cat (like for real crazy). I love him though. For some reason he's being nice to me to lately and listening to what I say. It's really strange, I suspect it's because he knows he won't get no love on thanksgiving. haha Because of all the cute kids that will be stopping by. haha He normally answers to nobody.
